CREST

The College crest is a distinguishing device, teaching great values through its beautiful symbolism and urging on us an ennobling motto.

The crest has four quarters divided by Greek Cross. The Dove in the left upper quarter represents the Holy Spirit who according to Christian belief, enlightens and sanctifies. The Fleur-de-lis (flower of the lily) in the upper quarter next to it stands for purity.  The two coconut trees in the left lower quarter are obviously symbolic of Kerala, the land of coconuts.  The Waves in the last quarter suggests water.  The symbols in the lower half of the crest are thus further suggestive of the location of the College – the meeting point of land and water.

The open book at the center of the Greek Cross is symbolic of wisdom. The dove, the lily and the open book together suggest the ideals the College places before its students: Wisdom and Purity.

Our coat of arms bears on top the motto of the College in Latin: “Caritas Vera Nobilitas”. Its Sanskrit equivalent is inscribed on the banner below the shield. The motto means that charity, or love of one’s fellow men is true nobility.

So, with absolute faith in God Almighty let us live on the campus a life guided by wisdom and inspired by the spirit of love and service.
