St.Berchmans Centre for Research


St Berchmans Research Center is committed to focus on priority research, training and communication needs, in order to achieve the objectives defined by the mission and vision of the college. There are many sub-centres and research laboratories working under this centre.

Primary Goals of the Centre

  1. To contribute to the quality and quantity of fundamental research in various disciplines of Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities/Languages
  2. To create an academic ambience for research in the campus.
  3. To explore a variety of thrust areas in research from multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives.
  4. To consider new ways of training researchers.
  5. To prepare individuals who will be more able to bridge the gap between researchers and scholars.
  6. To foster an attitude in researchers to transfer and apply their work

Secondary goals of the Center
  1. To help researchers to create novel and multidisciplinary projects and to gather financial resources for research programmes from external agencies and to increase the amount of such research being performed.
  2. To help academics to understand the real breadth and scope of disciplines involved in teaching and research.
  3. To improve the work of the faculty through their interaction with fellows in a variety of disciplines and through working with other faculty
  4. To establish regular training/seminar and to assure publications of findings that will stimulate and allow a free exchange of ideas and concepts enriching to both faculty and fellows worldwide.
Office of the Research Administration

The Office of the Research Administration (ORA) serves as a central resource to promote research, education and service missions of the College by encouraging and fostering the cross-disciplinary, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary researches and increasing the quality and quantity of research in various disciplines and training.  The office provides information and assistance to faculty and staff for developing and submitting proposals to external sponsors, and also in publishing papers in National/International high impact Journals. There is an executive committee to monitor the office of the Research Administration.
